He merely shrugs in turn about the whole pairing thing, it is a little bit of a sore spot for him, but he's mostly trying to just wait and see what happens instead of it being some sort of rush situation. It's not as if it won't happen at some point, but the wait and feeling useless due to it is frustrating.

Of course he would have done that and he's rolling his eyes, but it's clear that it's more of a joke than him actually being annoyed about it.
